V1 WORKBOOK / EDITORIAL ADAPTATION

From a Suggested Size to an Approved Fixture.

English planning notes adapted from the owner-supplied “Trading Card Fixture Specifications V1.xlsx”. Suggested values remain subject to engineering, drawings and a representative sample.

01

Panel construction

15/18mm MDF or plywood are proposed starting points; 18mm is the initial main-body choice. Back panels 5–9mm and drawer bottoms 9–12mm require span and fixing checks. HPL worktops use an 18–25mm substrate. Specify finished thickness, edge sealing, material batch and finish sample.

02

Metal and decorative finishes

Initial steel frame candidates are 25 × 25 or 30 × 30mm tubes with 1.2–1.5mm walls. Aluminum frame sections begin around 25–40mm. Decorative stainless trim of 0.8–1.2mm is not a structural frame. Veneer around 0.3–0.6mm and exposed 1–2mm edge banding are starting choices, subject to supplier documentation.

03

Glazing and shelf support

An 8mm tempered top and 6mm side/door panels are planning candidates, not proof of structural adequacy. Larger spans may require divided supports and a different glass specification. Review edge treatment, holes, door hardware and support geometry. Acrylic/PMMA is not glass. UV protection must refer to an identified material and supporting report.

04

Lighting and electrical scope

Use the model-specific lighting proposal, with 4000K dimmable LEDs suggested for the standard sales counter. Confirm actual strip data, driver input/output, total power, dimmer compatibility, heat management and service access. A proposed CRI target is not a verified rating; destination-specific documents must match the supplied components.

05

Card and holder fitting

The supplied reference lists a 3 × 4in top loader as 76.2 × 101.6mm externally. Trial clear slots may begin at 80–85mm width and 110–120mm height, but fit the actual sleeve before machining. A 35pt label describes card cavity thickness, not the external thickness of the holder.

06

Graded cards and oversize formats

Measure the holder manufacturer, generation, card type, outer thickness and raised edges. A 90–100mm clear width and 145–160mm clear height are initial sample-grid suggestions only. They do not guarantee fit for every PSA, BGS or CGC holder. Oversize and landscape formats need their own layout.

07

Packs, boxes and capacity

Measure the complete outer retail package, including blister, wrap, hanging hole and protrusions. Confirm box weight, facings and shelf depth separately. Calculate display capacity using an actual merchandise arrangement; cabinet outer size alone cannot determine card capacity. Separate displayed cards from drawer inventory.

08

Hardware, stability and transport

Select lock/key arrangements, slide extension, hinges, feet or casters by configuration. Review loaded and unloaded stability, open drawers and wall anchoring. Packing requires separately measured package sizes, gross weights and numbered parts; do not use cabinet dimensions as packing dimensions.

09

Approval record and commercial fields

Record overall and clear dimensions, shelves, holder samples, materials, glass, hardware, lighting, load tests, assembly, accessories and drawing revision. MOQ, lead time and warranty remain order-specific. The source workbook final-value column is blank: no proposed value should be labeled sample-verified until evidence exists.

Specify the exact 35pt, 55pt, 100pt or other model. Measure the exterior and allow retrieval clearance. The point rating does not state the outer holder thickness.

F05 / Graded card holders

Measure the grading company, holder generation, card format, external thickness and raised edge. Initial trial cells may be 90–100mm wide and 145–160mm high; verify each actual holder.

F06 / Thick slabs and oversize cards

Use independently sized wide slots or compartments. Record the full outer envelope and finger clearance rather than assuming the standard slab grid will fit.

F07 / Landscape display

Lay out a separate landscape row using the rotated holder dimensions. Recalculate cards per row using its new displayed width.

F08 / Packs and blister packages

Measure the complete retail package. Record hanging-hole location, center of gravity and stocked row depth. Loose booster pack measurements do not describe blister packaging.

F09 / Sealed boxes and gift sets

Measure the shrink-wrapped exterior, box weight and planned boxes per shelf. Allow vertical and front retrieval space.

F10 / Binders and deck boxes

Measure closed exterior dimensions and opening movement. Upright storage may need retaining edges; flat storage needs retrieval room. Advertised card capacity is not the package size.
